Rodney Taylor started working for the company on June 24, 1986, which was then named Rockingham Poultry Coop. He began his 39-year career with the company on night shift in the KFC department and he worked in several other departments before transferring to the Maintenance department in the early 1990’s. He stayed on night shift for more than 20 years and then transferred to day shift, where he is currently working, still in the Maintenance department.
I asked Rodney how much has changed since he started working for the company, and he said everything has changed. The KFC machines he first started working on were replaced by the Dapec machines, which are more automated. He has seen many people come and go and the work environment is different than it used to be. Now he performs maintenance and repairs on the machines in the plant.
Rodney and I talked about the supervisors and managers he has worked for during his years with the company. He said he had several in the different departments and he liked a lot of them.
When Rodney isn’t working and he has the time, he likes going camping and enjoying the outdoors.
What does the future hold for Rodney? He is looking forward to retirement and taking a break, resting and relaxing. That will give him more time to spend his time outdoors.
Thank you, Rodney, for your dedication, hard work and loyalty to our Company!
