Hippity Hoppity to the Wardensville Town Park for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4. Festivities begin at noon with fun games, engaging crafts, and yummy refreshments. At 1:00 children ages 10 and younger will gather by age groups to gather eggs in the big field at the park. This fun event is sponsored by the Wardensville Lions Club and enthusiastically assisted by youth from Boy Scout Troop #81 and Big Blue. Children are asked to bring their own Easter baskets to collect eggs. The Easter Bunny has promised to come and join in the fun! The laughter of the children will share smiles with everyone!
This is a tradition carried on by the Wardensville Lions Club that goes back many years. In the early years, the Easter Bunny hid real eggs for the children to find. In more recent years, children hunt for colorful plastic eggs filled with candy! Some eggs will contain certificates to redeem for a gold dollar. Other eggs will reveal the win of a special bunny prize. All children will receive one more surprise egg before they go home.
The Easter Egg Hunt is a delightful time for families to get together and enjoy the company of friends and neighbors of this great community. The motto of the Wardensville Lions Club is We Serve and they take it to heart! The Lions Club serves the community in many ways such as providing vision assistance, hosting Story Time every week, showcasing Quartets on Parade, collecting donations for the local Food Pantry, and sponsoring Christmas Joy in Wardensville. They are sure hoping for a good turnout at the Easter Egg Hunt. Come and have some fun!
