Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets With Tough Game Against Musselman Varsity Applemen

Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets couldn’t keep up with Musselman Varsity Applemen and fell 11-4 on Wednesday.

Musselman Varsity Applemen jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Chase Cosner singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, and Cam Bragg tripled, scoring one run.

Conner Holcomb earned the win for Musselman Varsity Applemen. The hurler allowed three hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking four.

Trevor Baldwin took the loss for Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets. The starter went three innings, giving up five runs (zero earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking none.

Trevor Baldwin, Oliver Crites, and Thomas Simmons each collected one hit for Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets. Oliver Crites led Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets with one run batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day.

Musselman Varsity Applemen accumulated 11 hits in the game. Kamdyn Woolum, Ethan Hinchman, and Wyatt Zimmerman each collected two hits for Musselman Varsity Applemen. Kamdyn Woolum and Cam Bragg were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Musselman Varsity Applemen. Wyatt Zimmerman stole two bases. Musselman Varsity Applemen stole seven bases in the game.

Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets welcome Tucker County on Thursday for their next game.
