Richard S. Anderson, 90, of Wardensville, WV, died on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Richard was born on March 14, 1936, the son of the late Wilburt and Ora Miller Anderson. Richard was a charter member of the Capon Springs Hunt Club, and was a master electrician, mechanic and worked for over 50 years at Capon Springs Resort. Richard enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing and camping at Mt. Storm.
Richard married Joan Crawford on November 26, 1955, in Hagerstown, MD.
Surviving with his wife of 70 years are two sons: Larry Anderson (Tina) and Alan Anderson both of Wardensville, WV; and two grandchildren: JR Anderson, Kala Beattie and a step grandson: Daniel Miller; five great-grandchildren: Natalee, Lucas & Jordan Beattie, Blake & Jaxon Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law: Sharon Anderson.
A funeral will be held at Loy-Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Wardensville, WV on Friday, July 31, 2026, at noon. Officiating will be Pastors Robert Oakley & Dennis Adams. Interment will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
