The Hardy County Chamber of Commerce is growing, and we are having a great time doing it!
The past nine months have been nothing short of incredible. We’ve welcomed more than 45 new members, hosted events every single month since October (sometimes even two!), and celebrated four ribbon cuttings with our local businesses. Even more importantly, I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people who make Hardy County such a special place to live and work. Simply put, I’m really enjoying this role, and it’s because of this community.
The momentum continues this May with a full calendar of events you won’t want to miss. On May 13, South Branch Smokehouse and The Bearded Hen Pub will celebrate their Grand Reopening with a ribbon cutting, come out and show your support for this great local restaurant and pub.
Then on May 27, PCB will host an After Hours event. These gatherings are a great place to look for that “needle in a haystack.” If you’re searching for the right person, service, or opportunity to help your business grow, there’s a good chance you’ll find it, or them, at an After Hours. You may even meet someone who’s been looking for exactly what you have to offer.
We’ve also had a busy and productive April. On April 22, the Hardy County Committee on Aging hosted an After Hours, always a great opportunity to connect, unwind, and build relationships. The very next evening, the Chamber hosted a non-partisan Meet the Candidate Night featuring Board of Education candidates. It was a fantastic opportunity for community members to hear directly from those seeking to serve. If you missed it, you can watch the replay on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
Behind the scenes, our Member and Community Engagement Committee is hard at work developing new and creative ways to connect our members with the community, while also exploring additional benefits to make Chamber membership even more valuable.
One question I often hear when visiting with potential members is, “Why should I join the Chamber?” The answer is simple: the Chamber creates connections, and those connections can make all the difference.
Our After Hours events are a perfect example. They provide valuable networking opportunities where you might meet the exact person you need to help move your business or idea forward.
Whether it’s a new partnership, a helpful contact, or just a great conversation, those connections matter.
We also maintain strong relationships with local banks and community partners. If you’re looking to start or expand a business, we can help connect you with the right people to guide you along the way.
In addition, community members regularly reach out to the Chamber for information and resources, and many turn to our website when searching for local businesses and services. Being a Chamber member helps ensure your business is part of that conversation.
If you’ve been thinking about joining the Chamber, now is the time. The Chamber is active. The Chamber is growing. And most importantly, the Chamber is fun.
Come be a part of it.
