Levi Price collected three hits in four at bats, but East Hardy Varsity Cougars lost to Clarke County Varsity Eagles 7-5 on Saturday at 238 Cougar Drive. Levi Price singled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the seventh inning.
Clarke County Varsity Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Aiden Wagner doubled, scoring one run.
Shayne Sisler doubled down the left field line, which helped East Hardy Varsity Cougars tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
East Hardy Varsity Cougars captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the third after Levi Price singled down the left field line, Shayne Sisler singled down the right field line, and Owen Miller walked, each scoring one run.
Caleb Erickson homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the fifth for the Clarke County Varsity Eagles.
Clarke County Varsity Eagles jumped into the lead in the top of the sixth when Aiden Wagner singled, scoring one run, Tucker Fox hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Logan Davis singled, scoring two runs.
Tucker Fox earned the win for Clarke County Varsity Eagles. The pitcher gave up six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out one and walking five. Gage Dove took the loss for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The starter went five innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking five.
East Hardy Varsity Cougars tallied 10 hits in the game. Shayne Sisler and Owen Miller each drove in two runs for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Evan Hamilton collected two hits for East Hardy Varsity Cougars in three at bats. East Hardy Varsity Cougars had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Gage Dove and Owen Miller led the team with two free passes each. East Hardy Varsity Cougars turned one double play in the game.
Clarke County Varsity Eagles piled up 10 hits in the game. Aiden Wagner led Clarke County Varsity Eagles with four hits in four at bats.
