On Sunday, April 19, from 5-7:00PM at WordPlay bookstore in Wardensville, local educators can meet Linda Sue Park, the author of many books for young readers including Newbery Medal winner A Single Shard and New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water. Park is on tour for her newest middle-grade release Just One Gift, a book of poetry discussing the one special person in your life to whom you’d give a gift and what that gift would be.
On April 20, she will visit four schools in Hardy and Hampshire County, where 200 students will receive free signed copies of Just One Gift, courtesy of WordPlay Connects, the nonprofit arm of WordPlay.
At the April 19th Educators’ Night, attendees will have the opportunity to chat with Linda Sue Park and enjoy light refreshments, special savings on books for the classroom, and the chance to win a free bundle of signed books by Park. Park will also sign copies of her books purchased at the event or brought from home.
Introductions and author remarks begin at 5:30PM, followed by brief Q&A and book signing. The event is free; no reservations required. Ample parking is available on the street and in the lot located behind WordPlay, 50 West Main Street in Wardensville. For more information, email info@wordplaywv.com.
