A Hardy County couple has been arrested and charged in connection to a suspicious fire at a Petersburg storage facility last month.

Hunter Todd Largent

Hunter Todd Largent and Marci Lyn Largent surrendered to authorities on Jan. 5. The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office (WVSFMO) said the pair were each charged with second-degree arson, 20 counts of third-degree arson, 20 counts of willful injury to or destruction of property, and 21 counts of conspiracy on the initial warrants.

The charges were filed after an investigation into a fire that occurred Dec. 14 at L And E Self Storage. The blaze gutted the 20-unit facility located behind the Petersburg 7-11.

The fire marshal’s office said additional felony charges will be sought against both Largents because firefighters sustained injuries during suppression efforts.

The pair are being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility on [private]$100,000 bond each.

The investigation was handled by Assistant State Fire Marshal J.J. Vacchio and Deputy Jesse Earle of the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.[/private]
