MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Music will fill downtown Moorefield this summer as McCoy’s Grand presents a series of free outdoor concerts in its new Courtyard Plaza & Gardens.
The series invites the community to enjoy live music under the stars while experiencing Moorefield’s newest outdoor gathering space.
Following the tremendous success of the Grand Opening celebration, which welcomed a standing-room-only crowd, McCoy’s Grand is expanding its outdoor programming with five weeks of live music featuring talented local and regional performers.
The series kicks off on Saturday, July 25, at 7:00 p.m. with Bat Country 304, a high-energy regional band known for its mix of classic rock favorites, country hits, and crowd-pleasing favorites that are sure to get audiences singing along.
The Summer Concert Series continues throughout August: Saturday, August 1 – The Fly Birds
One of the region’s favorite acoustic groups, The Fly Birds blend Americana, folk, bluegrass, and country influences with rich harmonies and outstanding musicianship, creating a sound that appeals to audiences of all ages.
Saturday, August 8 – Alexander Holmes
A talented singer-songwriter and guitarist, Alexander Holmes brings a mix of contemporary country, Americana, and acoustic favorites, showcasing both original music and well-loved classics with heartfelt performances.
Saturday, August 15 – Jimmy Lee
Known for his smooth vocals and engaging stage presence, Jimmy Lee performs an entertaining variety of classic country, southern rock, and popular favorites that have made him a favorite with audiences throughout the region.
Saturday, August 22 – Thorns & Roses
Closing the series is Thorns & Roses, a popular regional band featuring energetic performances, exceptional musicianship, and an eclectic blend of rock, country, folk, and Americana that promises a memorable finale to the summer concert season.
All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
One of the goals of McCoy’s Grand has always been to provide affordable, high-quality entertainment that brings our community together, said John Brennskag, President of McCoy’s Grand. The Courtyard Plaza & Gardens has already become a wonderful gathering place, and we’re excited to continue filling it with music all summer long. We invite everyone to come enjoy these outstanding performers, spend time with friends and neighbors, and experience everything this beautiful new space has to offer. The Courtyard Plaza & Gardens was completed as part of McCoy’s Grand’s continuing campus improvements and serves as an outdoor venue for concerts, festivals, community celebrations, and special events. The new space officially opened in June during McCoy’s Grand’s America 250 and West Virginia Day Celebration, attracting one of the largest crowds in the organization’s recent history and demonstrating the Community’s enthusiasm for outdoor programming.
Concessions will be available during each concert, and admission is free thanks to the generous support of community donors and sponsors. Donations are appreciated and help McCoy’s Grand continue providing free concerts, performances, and community events throughout the year.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of live music in a relaxed outdoor setting in the heart of downtown Moorefield.

McCoy’s Grand is a nonprofit performing arts center serving Hardy County and the surrounding region. The historic venue is home to the McCoy–McMechen Museum, the Eunice D. McCoy Lounge, and the Courtyard Plaza and Gardens.
