Potomac State College sophomore Sarah Iman has gained tremendous recognition for stellar efforts on the volleyball court and in the classroom.
Iman was selected as the Potomac State College Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in a recent ceremony on campus.
Mount Aloysius College took notice of Iman’s elite volleyball skill and invited her to join the Mounties.
Sarah Iman combined elite performance on the court with exceptional academic success. The sophomore led the Catamounts offense with 214 kills, averaging 3.51 kills per set, and recorded a season high 21 kills against Penn State Fayette. Her efforts earned her First Team All-Region 20 honors, while she finished ranked among the program’s all-time leaders—6th in kills per game and 11th in total kills. In the classroom, Iman completed 91 credits while maintaining a 3.92 GPA. She will continue both her academic and athletic career at Mount Aloysius College, pursuing a degree in education.
“It was amazing! It is satisfying and refreshing to see that all my hard work has paid off. The recognition helped me to realize that all the long hours of studying and writing papers were worth it and to keep putting in the work as I further my education. It truly is a blessing to even have the opportunity to succeed, let alone be recognized for it! My offer from Mount Aloysius was an opportunity that I didn’t know I needed. Since my commitment, I have been excited and looking forward to this next chapter every day. I am so honored to have the ability to continue playing and be welcomed into a new environment. I had no intention of continuing my athletic career, until I got a text message one day that completely changed my future, and because of this, I give my glory to God,” Potomac State College and Moorefield High School alumna Sarah Iman remarked.
Mount Aloysius College Volleyball had its best season this year as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regular season champion and reached the AMCC title game for the first time in program history finishing with an all-time best record of 20-8 under coach Brianna Baker.
Bake has led the Mounties to ten AMCC playoff appearances and named coach of the year twice.
Iman will be a tremendous asset to the Mounties program.
