Moorefield Varsity Yellow Jackets easily dispatched Tucker County Varsity Mountain Lions on Tuesday, 19-0.
Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Oliver Crites drew a walk, scoring one run, Trevor Baldwin homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Cyrus Kump singled, scoring two runs.
Moorefield Varsity Yellow Jackets added six more runs in the top of the second inning on two hits. Oliver Crites hit a solo home run to left field, Cyrus Kump drew a walk, scoring one run, Edison Metheny was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Zakk Keplinger singled, scoring three runs.
Moorefield Varsity YellowJackets scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Lemuel Beahm drew a walk, scoring one run, Reid Kump singled, scoring two runs, Zakk Keplinger grounded out, scoring one run, Vance Simmons doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
Zakk Keplinger earned the win for Moorefield Varsity Yellow Jackets. The hurler allowed four hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Owen Bolyard took the loss for Tucker County Varsity Mountain Lions. The southpaw went two innings, surrendering 16 runs (14 earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking nine.
