The Moorefield Examiner regrets omitting the East Hardy Girls Wrestling team results in the regional article last week.
East Hardy Girls Wrestling team finished 8th overall in the inaugural North Regional Girls Wrestling Tournament held at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
East Hardy had four state qualifiers including an alternate: Morganne Miller (runner-up), Madilyn Funk (6th), Chloe D’Amico (8th) and Gracie Heishman (9th, alternate).
The Cougars’ Bella Bauserman finished in 10th place.
“What a day for our girls. Proud is an understatement. Our girls went to battle at the North Region Wrestling Championship and represented East Hardy with heart, toughness and class. These girls fought hard all day and left everything on the mat. The growth of our girls wrestling program continues to show and this is just the beginning. Next stop: State,” East Hardy Wrestling Coach Steven Miller remarked.
