Grant Memorial Hospital recently received a generous donation from the GMH Auxiliary to support upgrades in its laboratory. In July, the hospital implemented a new chemistry analyzer, a valuable addition that increased the need for refrigerated storage space for diagnostic reagents. The lab’s previous refrigerator was outdated and too small to meet the demand.
To help meet this need, the Auxiliary donated a new laboratory refrigerator nearly twice the size of the original. “We have all the space we needed, and some extra, too!” said Laboratory Manager Allie Rohrbaugh. The department expressed deep appreciation for the Auxiliary’s continued support.
In addition to the lab equipment, the GMH Auxiliary also donated a popcorn machine for use during special events throughout the year. Most recently, CEO John Sylvia served popcorn in the hospital cafeteria on Veteran’s Day—an occasion that proved to be a big hit with employees and visitors alike.
