Wardensville’s “Merry Community Event” Coming on Dec 6

November 25, 2025

Christmas Joy in Wardensville just seems to get better each year! Saturday, December 6 is the date for this year’s merry community event. (If the weather is bad that day, we will hold the event on December 13.) This year Christmas Joy will have a new location — on the lawn in front of the Wardensville Community Center. There will be good space for businesses and organizations to share their joy!. The majestic pine tree in front of the Wardensville Community Center will be the center of all the activities. The Lions Club is partnering with the Town of Wardensville and Hardy Telecommunications to place new lights on the beautiful tree there to shine throughout the season. Everything will begin at 4:00 and conclude with the tree lighting at 5:30. There will be a short ceremony at the tree, and then the countdown to lights and happy holidays!

This will be a joyful town event, full of the Christmas Spirit for people of all ages! Organizations, businesses, and churches will give good will with plenty of cookies, hot chocolate, games, ornaments, goodies, and lots of fun. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there and are eager to see the children and hear their Christmas wishes! It will be a wonderful time of families gathering together, children’s eyes wide with delight, Christmas carols ringing through the air, people sharing in community fellowship, and lots of Christmas spirit. People of our community are already getting prepared, so let’s bring on the merry!

Residents and businesses are encouraged to light up their spaces with outdoor decorations! There will again be decorating contests this year. As Wardensville glows, the Christmas spirit will shine! Awards will be announced at the tree lighting.

The vision is for Wardensville to carry on what we have enjoyed the past three years. The Lions Club is truly grateful for efforts from all those who give graciously from their hearts, and particularly the Capon Valley Fire Company for their important role in the success of this celebration. It is a gift to bring our community together in happiness and Christmas Joy all through the season, enough to last all year!
