Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College held its 11th annual Trunk-n-Treat event on Oct. 24. With over 30 trunks from local businesses, organizations, and Eastern students and staff, the event drew nearly 1,000 community members to campus for a night of festive fun.
“This is always one of my favorite events of the year,” said Dr. Tom Striplin, President of Eastern. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to open our campus to the community and provide a safe and fun environment for families to celebrate Halloween.”
The event featured a variety of creatively decorated trunks, each offering candy and other treats to the trick-or-treaters. From spooky graveyards to whimsical wonderlands, the trunks showcased the creativity and community spirit of the participants.
In addition to the trunk-or-treating, the event also included a bounce house, a photo booth, and a variety of games and activities for children of all ages. The Eastern Student Government Association also held a costume contest, with prizes awarded for the most creative and original costumes.
“We are so grateful to all of the businesses, organizations, and individuals who participated in this year’s event,” said Striplin. “Their support is what makes this event possible, and we are so proud to be a part of such a wonderful community.”
