Twisted is a word people don’t want to hear from an auto mechanic or orthopedist, but fans of ice cream and savory foods can now find that they can “Get It Twisted” in Valley View. Last Saturday, “Get It Twisted,” celebrated its opening in Petersburg as Twisted Treats. Petersburg Treasures hosted an open house in its shopping area featuring Santa. Businesses in the area such as the Grant County Chamber of Commerce, Country Roads Market, the Grant County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Area-P, Treasure, Area 51, and others participated in a day-long event to usher in the Christmas season and celebrate their new neighbor.
Patrons will find much to celebrate at Get It Twisted’s expanded and upgraded location. On this day, brilliant sunshine warmed the area as families took advantage of the mild fall day to stroll and visit businesses in Valley View. The entire immediate area was crowded. Many gathered outside of Get It Twisted at the outdoor seating area. They serve both sweet treats and other features.
About 40 attendees from the Grant County Chamber of Commerce, including Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg and Grant County Chamber of Commerce joined in celebrating with the Wilson family and staff.
Sarah Wilson, proprietress of the restaurant, expressed her appreciation for the strong community support for her new venture, saying “we’ve had a lot of help.” The staff at the location, many of whom are high school students, worked efficiently and expertly. Many socialized or took advantage of the outdoor dining.
