One week before the popular Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant WV, our state’s famous cryptid will be the star of a free event at WordPlay bookstore in Wardensville.

Mothman Day at WordPlay will take place on Saturday, September 13 from Noon till 4:00PM. Participants can take a selfie with Winston (WordPlay’s resident Mothman), enter to win a Mothman prize pack, enjoy a MYOM (Make Your Own Mothman) craft, help put together a WV Cryptid puzzle, and purchase a Mothman-themed drink next door at Drifters Cafe.

At 2:00PM, WordPlay will host a meet-and-greet with Cristin Bishara, author of a brand-new Choose Your Own Adventure kids’ book featuring Mothman. Recommended for ages 9 and up, Cryptid Chronicles: Mothman is a fast-paced interactive mystery packed with 19 different endings, along with UFOs, hidden passageways, coded messages, and, of course, Mothman. Cristin will talk about her book and her writing process, answer questions, and sign copies of her new book, available for purchase at WordPlay.

Mothman Day at WordPlay is free; no registration required. WordPlay is located at 50 West Main Street in Wardensville. For more information, email info@wordplaywv.com.
