MOOREFIELD, West Virginia, July 10, 2025 – The Pilgrim’s Moorefield Fresh Complex has selected Ginger Combs as the Tomorrow Fund scholarship recipient for this year. The Pilgrim’s Tomorrow Fund was established to help our team members achieve their dreams and create a better future for themselves and their families. Every year, an eligible student from each processing facility across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, plus the corporate office, is awarded a full-ride scholarship to an eligible university of their choice.
Ginger and her mother Laura Heavener, who works in the Live Receiving department and has worked for the company since 2007, live in Moorefield, along with Ginger’s sister and brother. Ginger will be attending the Salon Professional Academy in Harrisonburg, VA to major in Cosmetology. She may also attend Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV to pursue a degree in Business. When asked about the impact of receiving this scholarship she said, “This will be an amazing weight off my shoulders financially. Being awarded this scholarship makes the hard work in my studies in school and working for the past four years, worth all the effort!” Ginger was a member of the National Honor Society, played sports, sang in church and worked at Farm Works Wonders during her high school years.

Every year brings new challenges for each of us, this award is a great reminder that people are continuing to accomplish their goals and working toward a brighter future. She is an excellent example of that, and I’m very proud of the commitment she has made to her education.”
