Welcoming new baby neighbors to our community is heartwarming and delightful! Capon Valley Neighbor to Neighbor’s 4th annual Community Baby Shower will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2-4:00 p.m. at the War Memorial Building in Wardensville. Who is invited? All mothers and families now expecting a baby, and those with a child younger than one-year-old.
When a family comes to the shower, they will be able to select new baby items that they need and like, and the size that is best for them. Each family will also be able to choose one larger gift such as a tub, diaper bag, high chair, stroller, or car seat. Information will be available about baby health and care.
Each mother will receive a special treat bag of goodies just for Mom, to give her a bit of pampering. Being a big brother or sister is very important! Siblings will be invited to select a gift just for themselves! Then the families may relax to enjoy refreshments while visiting with others. It is the hope of this event that all will feel honored and loved by this thoughtful and caring community.
Neighbor to Neighbor is accepting donations of brand new items to share with the families at the shower. Businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals are invited to donate, to help provide new baby neighbors with a shower of gifts to take home and help make life sweet. Diapers and wipes, clothes and sleepers, toys and stuffed animals, books, blankets and afghans, toiletries, and more are appreciated. Monetary donations are also helpful, and will be used to purchase shower gifts. Checks may be made to Capon Valley Neighbor to Neighbor.
People in this community are good and kind. They share generously, straight from their hearts! Neighbors have been getting ready for the shower all year. It’s fun to shop for babies! Friends and family go together to choose the cutest outfits for shower gifts or to purchase a larger item that they know a family will need. What a blessing for people to come together for young families.
Donations of gifts or cash may be made at the Kac-Ka-Pon Restaurant or by calling Tom and Patty Austin at 304-874-4345.
A new baby is like the beginning of all things — wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities. (Eda J. Le Shan)
