Jeanie Kimble started working for the company on March 29, 1990, which was then named WLR Foods, Inc. She started her 36 years of service, working in the KFC department, and she worked there until after the plant expansion in the early 1990s. She then went to work in the Breast Debone department and was promoted to Lead.
After that, she worked in the Human Resources department, where she was a Receptionist and HR Clerk. Jeanie now works in the Maintenance department as the day shift Parts Room Clerk.
I asked Jeanie how much has changed since she started working for the company and she said that there have been several changes. A few of the departments in the plant have been moved to different areas and some are no longer there. Some of the department names have been changed. There have been so many people that she worked with over the years that have retired.
Jeanie and I talked about the supervisors and managers she has worked for during her years with the company. She said one of the best was Eddie Rohrbaugh. He was an outstanding supervisor and he was encouraging and supportive when she needed it. Her current supervisor, Jill Sherman, is a wonderful one, as well as Matt Nelson.
When I asked Jeanie about the most memorable event she remembers since she started working, she said it is unquestionably when her daughter, Emily, was awarded the Tomorrow Fund Scholarship in 2024. This scholarship aided her in graduating this year, earning her bachelor’s degree at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va.. Jeanie is very proud of her daughter, as this is a big accomplishment!
When Jeanie isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family. She travels to Morgantown to visit her daughter as much as possible. She has another daughter and two grandsons, four and 11, in Louisiana, who she also tries to visit as much as she can.
What does the future hold for Jeanie? She said she wants to keep working at Pilgrim’s until she can retire and then she wants to do some traveling and spend a lot more time with her daughters and grandsons!
Thank you, Jeanie, for your dedication, hard work and loyalty to our Company!
