Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP): A Path to Employment for Adults 55+

Are you 55 or older, unemployed, and looking for work? The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides low-income older adults with paid training, valuable work experience, and support to help transition into permanent employment.

Participants work part-time in local nonprofits such as schools, libraries, senior centers, and other non-profit agencies while earning a training stipend and building skills for today’s job market.

Gain experience. Build confidence. Stay active. Earn money. Make a difference in your community.

The Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation and United Way of the Eastern Panhandle are partnering to host a free, two-day Sustainability Series for nonprofit organizations serving Berkeley, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, and Morgan counties.

The series will be held on September 23 and September 30 from 8 a.m. to noon and is designed to help nonprofit leaders strengthen their organizations and increase community impact.

Featured keynote presenter Dani Battle, drawing from her experience cofounding RICH – Restoring Inner City Hope, Inc. and the RICH Juice Bar, she will lead “Proximity to Possibility: Building Community, Enterprise, and Impact”.  Anthony Sartori, a social entrepreneur who trains leaders to build connected workplaces, will share “Five Essentials for Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being.”

This series is best suited for non-profit leaders and board members.
