Moorefield Boys and Girls Soccer programs will have home matches in their second season thanks to the huge support of Capon Valley Bank and other local community members.
The Yellow Jackets weren’t able to have home matches in their inaugural season last year and that all changed with the caring support of local businesses.
Capon Valley Bank Moorefield branch manager Drake Baker presented a check to the Moorefield Boys and Girls Soccer squads during practice last week assisting as the home season founding sponsor aiding with equipment purchases such as the brand new soccer goals.
“I think it is really good for the community to be able to invest in our student-athletes, not only on the field, but off the field. For Capon Valley Bank to give back to their community and help the soccer team to be able to have home matches is important to not only myself, but to Capon as a whole,” Capon Valley Bank Moorefield branch manager Drake Baker commented.
The new soccer goals with field goal posts have been installed at Moorefield Middle School’s Inskeep Field.
Along with Capon Valley Bank, community donations for the goals, paint supplies and field equipment were provided by Moorefield Athletic Boosters, South Branch Animal Hospital, The Nail Studio, HardyTel, Smith’s NAPA, Markwood Construction, Envirco, Doug Hines, John and Debbie Lamb, Burke & Herbert Bank and Carl Holcomb.
“We are so grateful for Capon Valley Bank and our community members for the support to help us have our first home matches this year. We are very excited to play at home, finally. Our closest home matches last year were in Petersburg,” Moorefield Girls Soccer coach Jessica Markwood noted.
