The Petersburg Vikings and Moorefield Yellowjackets played their 2nd annual Alumni Baseball Game on Friday evening (July 10th). The game brought together former players, coaches, families, and fans for an evening celebrating the rich baseball tradition of both schools.
Petersburg won the contest for the second straight year with a score of 11-6. The Vikings will retain the trophy for another year!
The event featured alumni from multiple generations taking the field once again, rekindling old rivalries while sharing plenty of laughs and memories. More importantly, it served as a reminder of the lasting friendships and community pride that high school baseball creates.
A special thank you goes out to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, and attended the game. Your support helped make the event a tremendous success. We also appreciate the dedication of all the former players who laced up their cleats one more time to represent their schools.
We hope this alumni game becomes a tradition that continues to bring our communities together while honoring the players and coaches who helped build the baseball programs at Petersburg and Moorefield.
All proceeds go to the Petersburg Middle/High School Baseball Program. We hope to see you next year at the 3rd annual game!
