The Hampshire County Arts Council invites artists – beginners to advanced – to spend an evening with instructor Chris Madden exploring approaches to drawing the still life. Drawing is the basis of so many of the arts – especially painting in any medium – and can be very intimidating. With Chris, participants will explore the composition of a still life, understanding light and shadows and getting that vision onto paper.
For the class, please bring charcoal and graphite pencils, (vine charcoal, if interested in that), drawing paper (11×14” or larger, preferred), a kneadable eraser and a drawing board.
The class will held on Thursday July 16 from 5-8 pm in the Arts Council’s Studio 203 in the Brannon Building on the campus of the WVSDB in Romney. The fee for the class is $25.
