CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Auditor’s Office today announced that the revitalized State Auditor’s Conference will be held September 25-26 at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, bringing together state agencies, higher education institutions, and boards and commissions for high impact training on payment processes. The event revives a conference tradition that began in 1993 under retired State Auditor Glen B. Gainer III, updated for a new era of transparency and accountability.

“The energy around this conference is already building, and Snowshoe is the perfect backdrop for the work we’re going to do together,” State Auditor Mark A. Hunt said. “We are excited to bring state government employees into one place, share best practices and move West Virginia forward with stronger financial oversight and smarter use of taxpayer dollars.”

Set against the backdrop of Snowshoe Resort, the conference will feature a full schedule of sessions focused on accounts payable, purchasing card, payroll, insurance, retirement, budget, internal controls, fraud prevention, compliance with state law and tools that help processes. Attendees will be able to network with peers, connect directly with State Auditor’s Office staff and other speakers to learn about new technology and resources that support efficient, accountable government.

“This is more than just training; it’s a momentum-building moment for state government in West Virginia,” Hunt said. “We want people to leave Snowshoe energized, confident and equipped with tools they can put to work the very next day.”
