East Hardy Varsity Cougars were victorious against Petersburg Vikings 8-4 on Monday at 238 Cougar Drive.
A passed ball put East Hardy Varsity Cougars on the board in the bottom of the first.
Miceh Ertel flew out, which helped Petersburg Vikings tie the game at one in the top of the third.
East Hardy Varsity Cougars flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to right field by Evan Hamilton that drove in two.
East Hardy Varsity Cougars scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to center field by Levi Price.
Shayne Sisler began the game for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The hurler gave up six hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking none. Kaleb Kuhn stepped on the hill first for Petersburg Vikings. The pitcher allowed seven hits and eight runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking four. Gage Dove and Evan Hamilton each appeared in relief for East Hardy Varsity Cougars.
Evan Hamilton and Mason Hamilton were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Levi Price and Evan Hamilton each drove in two runs for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Evan Hamilton stole two bases.
Owen Reel and Carter Hardy each drove in one run for Petersburg Vikings. Kaleb Kuhn stole two bases. Petersburg Vikings ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.
