Justin M. Evans has officially announced his candidacy for Hardy County Commissioner, citing a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and the people of Hardy County.

A 1998 graduate of Moorefield High School, Evans enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation. He served four years on active duty and an additional two years in the National Guard. During his active-duty service, Evans was assigned to an anti-armor infantry platoon with the 3-505 Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as a gunner, command driver, squad leader, and section leader.

Following active duty, Evans continued his military service by re-enlisting in the West Virginia National Guard. He served with the 157th Military Police Company in Moorefield and was later operationally controlled by the 152nd MP Company in Martinsburg.

After completing his military service, Evans attended Shepherd University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.

Evans has deep roots in the local business community. He most recently helped manage his family’s business, Evans Motel, while caring for his father during a prolonged illness and following his passing. He later managed C&K Metal Recycling and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Hardy County Chamber of Commerce, where he works closely with local businesses, civic leaders, and community organizations to promote economic growth and collaboration throughout the county.

“I believe Hardy County deserves leadership that understands service, hard work, and the realities facing local families and businesses,” Evans said. “I’m running for County Commission to give back to the community that has given so much to me and my family.”

Evans and his wife, Alicia, are raising their three daughters, Emily, Adalynn, and Jerrika, in Hardy County. He says his decision to run is driven by a desire to help build a strong, responsible future for the next generation.

Justin M. Evans will be a candidate for Hardy County Commissioner in the upcoming election.
