Big Second Inning Leads Allegany Campers Past East Hardy Varsity Cougars

Allegany Campers scored 10 runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat East Hardy Varsity Cougars 16-0 on Monday at 238 Cougar Drive.

A home run to right field by K Maden put Allegany Campers on the board in the top of the first.

Allegany Campers scored 10 runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. An error scored one run, K Maden drew a walk, scoring one run, L Buck drew a walk, scoring one run, D Harper was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, D Irons drew a walk, scoring one run, C Bauer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, M Frediska doubled, scoring two runs, and S Stewart tripled, scoring two runs.

A double by L Buck, a single by D Irons, and a fielder’s choice by S Stewart helped Allegany Campers extend their early lead in the third.

Gage Dove started the game for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The pitcher gave up two hits and eight runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking five. L Buck stepped on the hill first for Allegany Campers. The pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none.

Dayton Dove and Gage Dove were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for East Hardy Varsity Cougars.

D Irons, S Stewart, and K Maden each drove in three runs for Allegany Campers. Kfreeman paced Allegany Campers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Kfreeman and D Irons each stole multiple bases for Allegany Campers. Allegany Campers ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game. Allegany Campers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. C Bauer made the most plays with five.

East Hardy Varsity Cougars play at home on Wednesday against Pendleton County Wildcats in their next game.
