Falcons trip East Hardy in doubleheader opener, then Cougars pounce back for shutout ousting Tucker County from the Baker Den

Hamilton Has Lots Of Hits But East Hardy Varsity Cougars Fall To Central High School Falcons Varsity

Evan Hamilton collected three hits in three at bats, but East Hardy Varsity Cougars lost to Central High School Falcons Varsity 18-5 on Wednesday at 238 Cougar Drive. Evan Hamilton doubled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Central High School Falcons Varsity opened the scoring in the first after Austin Hosaflook grounded out, scoring one run.

Shayne Sisler walked, which helped East Hardy Varsity Cougars tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Central High School Falcons Varsity flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Noah Moss on the sixth pitch of the at-bat that drove in three.

Gage Dove began the game for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The starter allowed five hits and seven runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking three. Blake Kniceley started on the bump for Central High School Falcons Varsity. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three.

Mason Hamilton went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in.

Central High School Falcons Varsity collected 17 hits in the game. Cullen Stanley led Central High School Falcons Varsity with four runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 4-for-5 on the day. Blake Helsley, Nathan Snyder, James Bilbow, and Miles Williams each collected multiple hits for Central High School Falcons Varsity. Central High School Falcons Varsity had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Blake Helsley and Noah Moss led the team with two free passes each. Jaxson Kellican and Noah Moss each stole multiple bases for Central High School Falcons Varsity. Central High School Falcons Varsity stole eight bases in the game.

East Hardy Varsity Cougars welcome Tucker County Mountain Lions on Wednesday for their next game.
