Bridgeport, W.Va. — WVU Medicine United Hospital Center (UHC) is proud to announce a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the expansion of its Rapid Care services and the opening of a new onsite pharmacy at the Elkins Corridor Medical Center. The event took place on Thursday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the facility located at 1013 N. Randolph Ave, Elkins, WV.
This expansion represents a continued commitment by WVU Medicine to improve access to high-quality healthcare in Randolph County and the surrounding region. The enhanced Rapid Care unit and the new pharmacy are designed to provide “all-in-one” care, allowing patients to see a provider, receive diagnoses, and fill prescriptions in one convenient location.”
“Our goal is to ensure that the people in this area have the care they need when and where they need it” said David F. Hess, MD, CEO United Hospital Center, Regional President of the Central Region for West Virginia University Health System. “Expanding our Rapid Care capacity and adding a pharmacy directly into this facility reduces travel and provides faster, more convenient service to our community”
The Elkins Corridor Medical Center, which opened in September 2025, is a 38,000-square-foot facility offering comprehensive, high-quality care, including family medicine, advanced imaging (CT, X-ray, ultrasound), and rotating specialty clinics.
The expanded Rapid Care, open seven days a week, is designed to treat everything from the common cold to fractures and sprains. The addition of the pharmacy, equipped to handle both retail and specialized needs, further fulfills the “one-stop-shop” model of care.
