Petersburg, WV [12/30/2025] — The Grant County Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of John E. Baker as Vice President and Senior Accountant. In this role, Baker will support the bank’s financial operations and strategic initiatives while working closely with Jeffrey Reedy, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Baker is expected to transition into the role of Chief Financial Officer following Reedy’s retirement in July of this year.
Originally from Moorefield, West Virginia, Baker returns to the region after several years in Arlington, Virginia, where he built a strong background in finance and accounting. His professional experience includes work with prominent organizations such as the Washington Commanders, Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the Washington Nationals, and most recently as Director of Finance for Legends Global at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia.
Baker’s return to The Grant County Bank carries special significance. His great-great grandfather, Bernard J. Baker, was one of the founders of the bank, making this appointment a meaningful full-circle moment for both Baker and the institution.
As Vice President and Senior Accountant, Baker will focus on ensuring financial strength, continuity, and long-term stability for the bank while preparing to assume expanded leadership responsibilities. His appointment supports a smooth and thoughtful leadership transition and reflects the bank’s commitment to investing in experienced professionals who understand both the financial industry and the communities it serves.
The Grant County Bank is proud to welcome John Baker back to his hometown roots and looks forward to the leadership and expertise he brings as the bank continues serving customers and communities throughout the region.
