Wanda Mae (McDonald) Sherman, age 95, of Winchester, VA, passed peacefully to be with our Lord on November 24, 2025. She was born October 10,1930, in Old Fields (Hardy County), WV. She was the daughter of Robert L. McDonald and Lucia Gladys (Weese) McDonald
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and seamstress who in her child-rearing years fashioned clothes for her children and family. She, also, was a self-taught hairstylist and often cut the hair of family members and neighbors.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Wayne (1923-1999). She was, also, preceded in death by her brothers Ray Woodrow, Robert Harold, Paul Olin, and John Elwood McDonald; and one sister Ruby Lee (McDonald) Hines.
Wanda is survived by her son Forrest (Linda) of Winchester; her son Rodney (Regina) of Martinsburg, WV; and grandchildren Tyler Sherman (Emily) of Winchester, VA, Lauren Sherman Patton (David) of Mt. Crawford, VA , and Ethan Sherman (Alyssa Cable) of Buffalo, NY; and great-grandchildren Thomas,
Sophie, Mila, Henry, Jackson, and Finneas, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Church, 527 Van Fossen St., Winchester, VA, 22601 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital m501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
