WEST VIRGINIA (September 25, 2025) – The West Virginia First Foundation (WVFF) today announced the re-election of Tim Czaja to its Board of Directors, representing Region 2 (Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral, Berkeley, Jefferson, Pendleton, and Morgan Counties). Czaja, whose initial term concludes in November of this year, was unanimously re-elected by regional representatives during an election held at the Berkeley County Commissioner’s Office on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
WVFF’s Board of Directors is composed of 11 volunteer members, six elected from across the state’s regions and five appointed by the Governor, who oversee the Foundation’s mission to empower West Virginians to prevent substance use disorder, support recovery, and save lives.
“We are grateful for Tim’s continued leadership and commitment to the Eastern Panhandle and all of West Virginia,” said Jonathan Board, Executive Director of WVFF. “His re-election reflects the trust and confidence of his community, and we look forward to his ongoing contributions as we move forward together.”
Czaja has spent nearly 20 years working in substance abuse treatment within the corrections system. After earning a BA in Psychology from the University of Valley Forge, he facilitated a Therapeutic Community in Dauphin County Prison in Harrisburg, PA, before returning to Martinsburg, WV, where he now serves as Director of Berkeley County Community Corrections.
In this role, he oversees the Day Report Center, Home Confinement Program, Community Service Program, and Recovery Resource Center.
“I’m grateful for the chance to keep serving Region 2 on the West Virginia First Foundation Board,” said Tim Czaja. “Having lived through addiction myself, I know how much is at stake. My goal is to make sure these funds truly help people and families find hope and a path forward.”
