CHARLESTON — The Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC) participated in National Truck Driver Appreciation Week by recognizing and thanking commercial truck drivers for their contributions to the state and the nation. As part of the celebration, PSC officers distributed appreciation gifts to truck drivers on Thursday.
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, recognized this year from September 14–20, is an annual event organized by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to honor the work and dedication of the truck drivers who help keep the economy moving.
FMCSA Staff and PSC transportation officers engaged with drivers, offering thank-you packages and taking time to express appreciation for the professionalism and commitment of the trucking community. The event also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of safety and cooperation between enforcement agencies and drivers. The PSC regulates and inspects commercial motor vehicles in the state.
“Truck drivers are essential to keeping West Virginia and the nation moving,” PSC Chairman Charlotte R. Lane said. “Their work ensures goods reach West Virginia families and businesses every day. We were honored to take a moment to say thank you and underscore how critical safety is in this shared mission.”
