Run, Cougars, run. East Hardy High School Cross Country team continues to build endurance for each race this season with a plethora of 5k races this summer.
The Cougars are ready to pounce on the trail to return to Ona for the state track meet.
East Hardy Cross Country senior Jonathan Montgomery is the final remaining member of the original revitalized cross country team and wishes he could reminisce with a teammate about previous races.
Montgomery understands the importance of hydration and setting a pace for a cross country meet and put that to the test this summer earning third place in his first half-marathon.
East Hardy Cross Country sophomores Kane Persinger and Shaye Barb have been hitting the 5k circuit over the summer and collected numerous Top-3 finisher medals for their efforts.
East Hardy Cross Country junior Danielle Funkhouser has been participating in the 5k races, too.
The Cougars added two new members this season: Carter Myers and Hayden Myers.
East Hardy High School Cross Country team will be coached by Michelle and Randall Wolfe for their second season.
This preparation will be beneficial for the upcoming season which starts at Lake Broadford in Oakland, Maryland on September 8.
The Cougars will run in the 33rd Frankfort Invite on September 12.
East Hardy travels to Berkeley Springs for the 20th annual BSHS Invitational on September 19.
The Potomac Valley Conference Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Hampshire High School on October 13.
The Region II Cross Country Championship will be at Frankfort High School on October 24.
East Hardy Middle School embarks on its inaugural cross country season under the leadership of coach Julie Garrett.
The Junior Cougars squad includes: Jake Bragg, Hunter Garrett and Aspen Maphis.
East Hardy Middle School Cross Country team starts the season at the Capon Bridge Bobcat Stampede today, then travels to Frankfort on October 3.
The Potomac Valley League Cross Country Championship will be at Frankfort Middle School on October 22.
