Moorefield senior Kail Greenwalt recorded a card of 77 strokes to take the third place low-medalist spot at Polish Pines Golf Club in Keyser.
Hampshire won the overall match in Keyser at 312, followed by the Golden Tornado at 337, Petersburg finished in third at 342, Frankfort took fourth with 368, Moorefield collected fifth place with 378 strokes and Tucker County rounded out the scoring in sixth place at 390.
Peyton Vanmeter paced the Trojans with the overall low-medalist score of 70 strokes.
Keyser’s Ryan Pratt grabbed the runner-up low-medalist spot with 75.
Greenwalt was just two strokes away in third place for the Yellow Jackets at 77.
Moorefield junior Kody Biser garnered 98 strokes, sophomore Tyler Roy shot a 100, senior Thomas Parisi hauled in 103 strokes and freshman Will Martin capped off the day for the Yellow Jackets with a card of 105.
“Kail played great,” Moorefield Golf coach Kevin Reed noted.
The Yellow Jackets finished in third place at Fisher Mountain the following day.
Tygarts Valley won the match with a total of 175 points, followed by host Pendleton County at 184, Moorefield was third with 202 strokes.
Pocahontas County had an incomplete team (+64).
Tygarts Valley’s Alijah Row-Sponaugle was the overall low-medalist with a card of 39 at Fisher Mountain.
Moorefield’s Kail Greenwalt and Pendleton County’s Dylan Eye tied for second place low-medalist with 41 strokes apiece.
Kody Biser finished with 49 for the Yellow Jackets which was the eighth best score of the day.
Moorefield’s Thomas Parisi shot a 52 for 12th place, followed by Tyler Roy at 60 in 18th place, and Geoffrey Williams and Mason Liggett tied for 25th overall with cards of 68.
The Yellow Jackets returned home to Valley View on Tuesday.
Moorefield will travel to Strasburg on Thursday and Elkins next Wednesday, then come back home on Thursday.
