Hamilton Drives 4 Runners Home In East Hardy Varsity Cougars Victory Over Pocahontas County Warriors

Mason Hamilton drove in four runs on two hits to lead East Hardy Varsity Cougars past Pocahontas County Warriors 15-0 on Friday at Pocahontas County High School. Mason Hamilton doubled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two.

The bottom of the lineup was strong for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Mason Wilkins, Patrick Mills, and Cole Lantz combined for four of the team’s eight hits in their victory. They scored five runs and drove in five.

East Hardy Varsity Cougars jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Levi Price grounded out, scoring two runs, Shayne Sisler hit a solo home run to left field, Mason Wilkins singled, scoring one run, Patrick Mills grounded out, scoring one run, and Mason Hamilton doubled, scoring three runs.

A single by Mason Hamilton, and a sacrifice fly by Shayne Sisler helped East Hardy Varsity Cougars extend their early lead in the third.

Cole Lantz stepped on the mound first for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking five. L Keatley stepped on the hill first for Pocahontas County Warriors. The starter allowed eight hits and 15 runs (five earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking six.

Mason Wilkins, Patrick Mills, and Mason Hamilton each collected two hits for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Evan Hamilton led East Hardy Varsity Cougars with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Evan Hamilton and Mason Hamilton each stole multiple bases for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. East Hardy Varsity Cougars stole nine bases in the game.

L Keatley led Pocahontas County Warriors with one hit in two at bats. W Peck stole two bases. Pocahontas County Warriors ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.

Next up for East Hardy Varsity Cougars is a game at Frankfort Varsity Falcons on Tuesday.
