Town Park Pool Demolition

The Town of Wardensville requests proposals for the demolition of its derelict swimming pool. Demolition will include the adult swimming pool and the children’s pool. All debris from the demolition to be used for fillable material in the adult pool. The children’s pool will be filled with good top soil. Contractor will be responsible for removing the pool outer wall, puncture holes in the pool floor, pumping out any water, and disposing of any material as necessary. Fill material must include clean sand, gravel, or structural fill dirt, to be layered and compacted in layers to prevent settling, topped with 12” of good topsoil, and grass seed. Drainage layer will start with 12-18 inches of gravel for drainage. Contractor must ensure material is free of sharp debris. Contractor must provide sites for waste material disposal if necessary. Contractor is responsible for filling the pool area with appropriate material, grading the area flat, and compacting to a level appropriate to construction use of the land. Work must be completed by a licensed WV contractor. The Town is responsible for conducting compaction testing.
The work must be completed within 120 days after the contract is awarded.
Deadline to submit questions is 4 p.m. January 27, 2026, Prebid meeting (mandatory) 10 a.m., January 28, 2026. Proposals due by 10 a.m. February 5, 2026. Proposal documents should be plainly marked as “Bid for Pool Demolition.” Proposals may be sent by email (info@wardensville.com), US mail (PO Box 7, Wardensville WV 26851), in-person or via Fedex (Wardensville Town Hall, 27 Warrior Way, Wardensville WV 26851).

Proposals will be accepted until February 5, 2026 at 10 a.m. Late bids will not be accepted. The Town of Wardensville is an equal opportunity employer.
