Moorefield Little League 8,9,10 Softball All Stars 25 Trounce Jefferson County in District 6 Tournament Semifinals

Happy Father’s Day: Moorefield 8-10 Softball All-Stars team recognized their fathers at the West Virginia Little League 8-10 Softball Tournament in Baker.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 easily dispatched Jefferson County on Father’s Day in Baker during the West Virginia Little League 8,9,10 Softball District 6 Tournament semifinals, 23-2.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Margo See singled, scoring one run, Tatum Crites drew a walk, scoring one run, Sara Sherman drew a walk, scoring one run, Addison Fitzwater singled, scoring three runs, Hadley Weese singled, scoring two runs, Presley Shockey drew a walk, scoring one run, Addie Baldwin singled, scoring one run, and Margo See doubled, scoring one run.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 scored five runs on two hits in the top of the second inning. An error scored one run, Addison Fitzwater drew a walk, scoring one run, a steal of home scored one run, and Presley Shockey singled, scoring two runs.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. An error scored one run, Tatum Crites drew a walk, scoring one run, Sara Sherman singled, scoring two runs, Hadley Weese singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Margo See stepped in the circle first for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25. The starter gave up one hit and two runs (zero earned) over one inning, striking out three and walking one. Addie Baldwin and Danica Mongold each came on in relief for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 and shutdown Jefferson County.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 amassed 11 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Addie Baldwin led Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 with three hits in four at bats. Addison Fitzwater, Sara Sherman, and Hadley Weese each drove in three runs for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25. Margo See collected two hits for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 in three at bats. Tatum Crites paced Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 13 walks for the game. Presley Shockey, Margo See, Addison Fitzwater, Sara Sherman, Arianne Taylor, Tatum Crites, Chloe Mongold, and Hadley Weese each stole multiple bases for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25. Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 25 ran wild on the base paths, piling up 22 stolen bases for the game.

#8 led Jefferson County with one run batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-1 on the day. Melody stole two bases.
