Moorefield Volleyball honored its seniors in the Hive with a victory over Berkeley Springs: 25-12, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-22.
The Yellow Jackets seniors taking a final bow in the Hive were: Annie Barr, Aubrey Kidwell, Aryana Hinz, Brenna See, Lexi Vanmeter and Jocelyn Wagner.
During the first set, Barr and Hinz served up four aces apiece as Vanmeter and Wagner swung for the floor to help rally to the win.
Vanmeter made key hits in the second set and Hinz had a couple more aces, but the Indians managed to squash a rally.
Moorefield settled down in the third and fourth sets with great defensive digs by Kidwell, Hinz and Emmy Crites.
Moorefield Volleyball senior plans for after high school are:
Barr: Become a special education teacher
Hinz: Attend WVU to study to become a pediatric sonographer or optometrist.
Kidwell: Attend Potomac State College to study nursing
Vanmeter: Attend Potomac State College to study child development and family studies and continue playing volleyball for the Catamounts.
Wagner: Attend James Madison University or University of Pittsburgh to study speech language pathology and move to New York City.
This group of seniors commenced their careers alongside head coach Kellan Snyder for the Yellow Jackets program and have become very special to him.
“They were the first freshmen I had as the head coach. I’m really happy for them. Getting a big win against a regional opponent on senior night was great for these girls, especially right before tournament play next week,” Moorefield Volleyball coach Kellan Snyder noted.
