October 24: Moorefield Football vs. Keyser at noon
The change in schedule is due to the loss of beloved Moorefield High School alumnus and football coach and trainer Jacob Metheny.
Moorefield High School principal Amanda Campbell’s statement:
“We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love, kindness, and support from our community during this difficult time. Thanks to the cooperation and flexibility of Keyser High School, our game officials, and volunteer athletic training staff, we are able to move our homecoming football game to Saturday, October 24, at noon. This adjustment not only provides our student-athletes with much-needed recovery time following Monday evening’s game, but also gives our school family additional time to come together, support one another, and navigate this difficult time. Our Homecoming Dance will take place Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. We sincerely appreciate the compassion, understanding, and ferocity shown to our students, staff, and families. During challenging times, we are reminded that the strength of our school extends far beyond the walls of MHS. Once a Yellow Jacket, Always a Yellow Jacket. #44″
