Cheryl Mae Mathias, 66, of Mathias, WV, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 22, 1960 in Bergton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Nelson H. Combs and E. Virginia Smith Combs.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Regina Combs.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin L. Mathias, daughters, Jessica Barnes (Tony) of Winchester, VA and Angela Sisler (Matt) of McHenry, MD; four beloved grandchildren, Grady Nelson, Crosby Roosevelt, Grace Lee and Carter Mathias; and her siblings, Diana Coffman (Douglas) of Baker, WV, Tammy Combs of Baker, WV, and Danny Combs (Pati) of Broadway, VA.
A devoted homemaker, Cheryl found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She was a proud wife, mother, and Nanny. Cheryl was a graduate of Wardensville High School and worked at R&F Manufacturing. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Baker, WV with Pastor Gary Koontz officiating. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery, Baker, WV. A meal will follow at the Arkansaw Community Center.
The family will receive friends on Friday, 6-8 p.m., at McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Church.
