The Washington Patriots Golf team earned the quad victory behind an epic card of 34 from WVU commit Tommy Evans to edge Petersburg by two strokes, while Pendleton County took third place and Moorefield grabbed the final spot.
It was a humid day, but the course had enough moisture and fresh cut grass to provide an optimal experience.
The bunkers did;’t come into play that much this time around, so that was one positive out look.
Washington secured the top team honors with a score of 159, followed by Peretsbuirg at 161, Pendleton County at 181 and the Yellow Jackets were plus 43.
The Vikings were paced by Ayden Gossard with 37 strokes.
Pendleton County was guided by Landon Davis with a card of 39.
Moorefield had four players finish in the 40’s for the first time this season led by Kail Greenwalt with a card of 45, followed by Will Martin at 46, Kody Biser at 47 and Thomas Parisi with a card of 49.
“This was the best round we have had all season. We had four golfers finish the day in the 40’s, so I was pleased with that performance. We played much better today, but we still have a long ways to go this season,” Moorefield Golf coach Kevin Reed noted.
