Potomac Valley Post #64 2026 Baseball Team has three Petersburg High School players on their roster for Senior Legion Team 19 and under.
Lukas Wolford, Owen Reel and Kaleb Kuhn have been traveling the legion circuit since June 16th. They won their season opener 8-6 at Garrett Community College.
Regional opponents include Berkeley Post 14, Cumberland Post 13 and Charleston Post 65.
The July 9-11, 2026, weekend Berkeley Post 14 Invitational Tournament found Potomac Valley Team in the championship. Pool play was Friday and Saturday with two teams in each pool advancing on Sunday.
ool A teams were Berkeley Post 14, Morgantown Post 2, Francs Scott Key Post 11and Post 34 Rangers.
Potomac Valley 64, Funkstown Post 211, Cumberland Post 13 and Charleston Post 65 made up Pool B.
Pool A teams to advance were Martinsburg and Post 34 Rangers. Funkstown Post 11 and Potomac Valley 64 advance from Pool B.
On Sunday, Funkstown Post 211 eliminated Martinsburg. After Petersburg was victorious 9-7 over Post 34, Funkstown Post 211 defeated Petersburg in the championship 12-1.
They play season games as well as play in tournaments. The first tournament Mountaineer Country Invitational was at the end of June at Mylan Park in Morgantown. That tournament included teams from Ohio and Penn. They went 2-1 in that tournament.
Area 4 Tournament was played in Martinsburg. After a winning start 3-0, Post 64 dropped the next two games in best 2-3 series.
They both advanced this week to State Tournament in Beckley. Post 14 as a winner and Post 64 as runner up.
Berkeley Post 14 defeated Parkersburg Post 15 in the opening game. They defeated Post 94 of South Charleston before losing to Wheeling Post 1 with 1-3 score. Potomac Valley Post 64 was defeated by Wheeling Post 10-0, who is the two-time defending tournament champion. After a win over Morgantown Post 2 9-4, Post 94 of South Charleston defeated Potomac Valley Post 4 1-8 to end their run to the Championship.
AccessHealth Field at Linda K. Epling Stadium, the former site of the (now defunct) West Virginia Miners of the Pioneer League, a summer collegiate wooden bat league.
Note: Moorefield High School’s Matthew Iman played some games with Potomac Valley Post 64 this season, but didn’t make the state tournament trip after pitching the Keyser Junior American Legion Post 41 division to its own state tournament appearance and fourth place finish.
