Robert “Bob” Arnold Meinhardt, 89, of Wardensville, WV passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, surrounded by friends and family at his granddaughter’s home.
Son of the late Victor A. and Anna M. Bowen Meinhardt, Bob was born on September 17, 1936, in Baltimore MD. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed everything history related. He loved traveling with his wife, entertaining friends and family, showing off his piano skills, telling jokes, and writing a good letter.
Bob eloped and married his late wife Evelyn V. Albright Meinhardt on June 4, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is survived by his granddaughter Lisa Brill (Rodney) of Wardensville WV, two daughters Catherine Rupard of Hedgesville VA and Vicki Maimone (AL) of Princeton MA, and Daughter in Law Wanda Meinhardt of Winchester VA. 13 Grandchildren, Melanie, Amanda, Caitlin, Daniel, Matthew, Elizabeth, Robert, Zachary, Joseph (Kendall), Dana, Dakota, and Cristie. Also 10
Great Grandchildren Niko, Clayton, Tommy, Caden, Jackson, Elena, Kayla, Leighton, Adam and Amelia. Along with his younger brother Kenneth (Jeanette) Meinhardt of Stevensville MD.
He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Dianna Place, Two Sons Robert Meinhardt Jr and David Meinhardt, a grandson Timothy Meinhardt, a great granddaughter Raeanne along with his eldest brother Victor Meinhardt.
A private graveside inurnment will be held in the Greenfield Cemetery, Wardensville, WV, with military honors being accorded by the United States Air Force at a later date.
