Margo’s Big Day Propels Moorefield 8,9,10 Softball All Stars 26 Past Jefferson

Margo See collected three hits in three at bats, as Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26 defeated Jefferson 17-1 on Saturday at Moorefield Town Park in the District 6 tournament opener.

“One, it was good to see the girls play. We have been practicing for several weeks now. To actually be on the field and play, it was good to see them on the field building confidence and driving runs home. Hopefully this is just the beginning of their journey. This group always supports each other and their energy level always rides high. It is exciting to see them together and how they gel together. It is exciting for Margo to pitch in Moorefield, but it is something she does all the time. We can’t pitch for her. She has spent a lot of time with Tinley (Crites) to build that connection and have done well together,” Moorefield 8-10 Softball All-Stars coach Morgan See remarked.

Margo See doubled in the third inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the first inning.

Jefferson opened the scoring in the first after Melody Sutherland grounded out, scoring one run.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26 flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring seven runs on six hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Sadie Wolfe that drove in three.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26 extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI singles by Margo See, Danica Mongold, and Presley Shockey.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26 added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Addie Baldwin singled to center field, Margo See doubled down the left field line, and Danica Mongold singled to center field, each scoring two runs.

Margo See opened the game for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26. The pitcher gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out eight and walking one. Melody led things off in the circle for Jefferson. The starting pitcher allowed 10 hits and 11 runs (nine earned) over two innings, striking out five and walking three.

Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26 amassed 17 hits in the game. Margo See, Danica Mongold, and Addie Baldwin each collected three hits for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26. Sada Michael and Presley Shockey each collected multiple hits for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26. Margo See and Addie Baldwin each stole multiple bases for Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26. Moorefield 8,9,10 All Stars 26 stole nine bases in the game.

Carleigh Seibel went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Jefferson in hits.
