Let me respond one more time to Mr. Tarleton of Mathias, who wishes to lecture on civility, public discourse in politics, presidential conduct, and on.
Mr. Tarleton says we must deal in facts, yet it’s obvious he did not bother to research the latest findings on President Trump’s impeachment during his first term over the “Ukrainian phone call”. A political hit job all the way…all information came to the “whistleblower” (a Democrat operative) second hand, and forced through by Democrats as just one piece of their multi-year lawfare attack on our elected president. I recall the Left (Democrats) calling for Trump’s impeachment in December 2016, after he’d won the presidency but before he’d even been sworn into office….absurd, and for what? It was long their goal to impeach and, contrary to Mr. Tarleton’s statement that a robust process was followed leading to impeachment, this is only wishful thinking, a fantasy, not what happened. Look for the U.S. House of Representatives to reverse both Trump impeachments as unjustified and unlawful as new information becomes available and as the rushed, politically motivated impeachments (the 2nd after Trump had left office) are reexamined. Of course this will enrage the Left as it will eliminate an important talking point they worked for, the “twice impeached president” one.
I’ve read the Moorefield Examiner reliably for years and would ask Mr. Tarleton where his Letters to the Editor were suggesting that Democrats follow the Constitution and invoke the 25th Amendment to have Joe Biden removed from office when he was clearly not up to the job (just ask the Autopen and those controlling it)? And the letter admonishing Democrats for highly destructive statements like “this illegitimate Supreme Court” when the justices don’t rule in their favor? And the letter warning Democrats to improve their policies and what they stand for, rather than talk of adding DC and Puerto Rico as states for the sole purpose of gaining 4 additional Senate seats, and abolishing the Electoral College? We’ll be waiting a long time for those letters, unfortunate as they are sorely needed to help bring honest and open balance to the current political debate.
