Dayton Dove collected three hits in three bats, as East Hardy Varsity Cougars defeated Paw Paw Varsity Pirates 15-0 on Tuesday at 238 Cougar Dr. Dayton Dove hit a solo home run to center field in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.
East Hardy Varsity Cougars won thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. Evan Hamilton scored after tagging up, Dayton Dove singled, scoring one run, Gage Dove tripled, scoring two runs, Brinn Childers singled, scoring one run, Patrick Mills tripled, scoring two runs, and Evan Hamilton hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Seven more East Hardy Varsity Cougars runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 15-0. Dayton Dove hit a solo home run to center field, Evan Hamilton doubled, scoring two runs, Mason Hamilton homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Dayton Dove singled, scoring one run.
Cole Lantz opened the game for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. The righty gave up three hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Conner Kendall started on the mound for Paw Paw Varsity Pirates. The hurler surrendered five hits and eight runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking two. Mason Hamilton threw one inning of no-run ball for East Hardy Varsity Cougars in relief. The righty surrendered one hit, striking out three and walking none.
East Hardy Varsity Cougars tallied 13 hits in the game. Brinn Childers and Patrick Mills each collected multiple hits for East Hardy Varsity Cougars. Shayne Sisler paced East Hardy Varsity Cougars with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Evan Hamilton stole two bases.
