Brenna See hit two home runs and drove in four, but Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets lost to Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats 9-6 on Tuesday at 365 Mill Rd. Brenna See homered in the third and seventh innings.
Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the second inning after Jacey Thompson singled, scoring two runs.
Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets captured the lead, 3-2, in the top of the third when Brenna See homered to center field, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
Lexi Tingler stole home, which helped Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.
Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Laney Bowers singled, scoring two runs, to give Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats the leg up, 5-3.
Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets made the score 9-6 in the top of the seventh inning when Brenna See homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Annie Barr hit a solo home run to left field.
Susan Vincell earned the win for Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats. The southpaw allowed eight hits and six runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking two. Annie Barr took the loss for Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking none. Anniston Kite began the game for Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets. The left-handed pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three.
Annie Barr collected two hits for Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets in four at bats.
Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats tallied 14 hits in the game. Jacey Thompson led Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Jessica Parker, Jacey Thompson, and Kinsley Price each collected three hits for Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats. Susan Vincell collected two hits for Pendleton County Varsity Wildcats in four at bats.
