Richard Harold Davy, age 61 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2026 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on February 17, 1965 in Romney, WV, he was the son of the late Donald Wright Davy and Dorothy Ellen Hose, he was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many during his time with us. A sister, Melissa Davy also preceded him in death.

Richard was known for his infectious humor—always ready with a joke or a one-liner to lighten the mood. He had a love for life, especially his grandchildren, and a passion for fishing that brought him endless joy. When football season hits, you could find him cheering loudly for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, a testament to his spirited nature and love for the game.

His legacy lives on through his significant other, Christina O’Brien, his son Richard M. Davy of Winchester, VA, and his daughter Michelle L. Davy of Woodstock, VA. He is also survived by his two brothers, Donald R. Davy of Moorefield, WV, and Ray Davy of Baker, WV, along with his four cherished grandchildren: Dustin, Tyrant, Hurrikane and Oliver.

To celebrate Richard’s extraordinary life, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street, on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM with Pastor D. J. Taylor officiant. The family will be welcoming friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service. Together, we will share stories, laughter, and love as we remember Richard and the joy he brought to our lives.

We invite you to join us in honoring Richard’s memory. Share your condolences, memories, or photos on his Tribute Wall at www.fraleyfuneralhome.com, and celebrate the incredible impact he had on all who knew him.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fraley Funeral Home.
